How can I delete my account permanently?

Login to the your profile account page and select the ‘Deactivate Account’ section from the menu.  All the information and your profile will be inaccessible to other Facebook users however the information will still be ‘saved’ on the site, such as as friend lists, photos and user info.  This has caused some controversy in the past as users wanting to leave the platform as not happy the information is still on the system.

It can be very handy if you change your mind and want to use Facebook again as once reinstated your profile will appear as normal.  If however you wish to permanently delete your profile and physically remove all the information with no option of reversing the process simply login to your account and submit this request.
